If you’ve followed me on social media for awhile, you’ve probably heard of my brand bucket list. I’ve had a “brand bucket list” going for awhile now of brands I want to design. It’s a list that I keep on my desk for a rainy day or whenever I have time to create a new brand for fun. It’s entirely meant to be a passion project & something that lets me create what I want to create instead of what I’m just paid to create. But what if those passion projects turned into something bigger? What if that passion project actually led to a client? Well, that’s sort of what happened!
Around July, I had posted on social media that I was looking to create a brand for a passion project. I wanted to find a bee keeping company (because bees are my favorite..obviously..) and a family farm to design a full brand for..free of charge! I wanted to create these brands because they’re something I’ve always dreamed of creating branding for & have a vision for what I would do for them. That’s when I stumbled into Stump Farms! I was introduced to Alicia and her family thanks to a mutual friend of ours, Brittani (you can check out her amazing photography work here). Brittani reached out to me and told me about a friend of hers who owned a family farm. She said they were so kind, deserving, and their branding would probably match my passion project I had posted about. As soon as I met this family and saw their Instagram
I just knew they were someone I could see myself working with!
When I created this brand for Stump Farms, I wanted something that had a classic, timeless, “feels like home” vibe to it. I wanted something that was unique to them and their farm, but could be stamped on a shirt or a bag or something at a farmers market. I took the idea of the chicken from one of their little chickens they have on their farm & ran with it! I had always dreamed of creating a super detailed illustration to accompany a brand, and that’s what I set out to do with this brand. I also wanted to create an organic, earthy color palette to compliment the brand itself!
This brand truly brought my passion project to life and I’m so grateful Brittani introduced me to her friend Alicia. This was such a fun “out of the box” project that allowed my creativity to flourish and bring their vision to life for their brand. After all was said and done, Alicia even left me the sweetest review, she said,
“Brianne was so easy to work with and adapted to our needs flawlessly. The final outcome was beautiful and we couldn’t be happier with the brand package she created for us.
We are a small family farm her work came out as a timeless and beautiful capture of what we were looking for!!”
Forever grateful for this career & the opportunities it presents me with. Even at the most unexpected times!
