So, here you are. It’s the end of the year and you’re debating whether or not it’s time to start that brand development you’ve always wanted! You’ve prepped for this point, but wait, how do you know if you’re ready to take the leap?! What if you make the wrong choice and you’re not quite ready? What if you’re not quite where you want to be as an entrepreneur?! That’s OKAY!
The truth is, 9/10 we are NEVER ready to do the things that we should be doing for our business! We always put our clients needs before our own business needs. So, how do you make the decision? Is there a perfect time to brand your business or are you just overthinking it? And what signs should you look for before knowing if you’re ready to take the leap and work with a brand designer?
Here are 4 signs that you’re ready to hire a brand designer:
1. Your business isn’t growing at the rate you want it to.
Sounds a bit cliche, but sometimes it’s time to hire a brand designer when business is slow. Business can be slow for a number of reasons. It could be slow because it’s the time of the year when things slow down for you, maybe your marketing isn’t running as smoothly as it used to, or maybe you’re just not attracting the right audience with your brand. Sometimes business is slow simply because of bad or inconsistent branding, or maybe you have no branding at all!
When business slows down, it creates a great opportunity to focus on growing your business in other ways than just booking clients. I always recommend clients to start their brand process during a slow stage because it gives you time to focus on your business without distraction and enjoy the process itself.
2. You’re not attracting the right audience or your ideal clients.
Your brand can be the difference between a client booking with you, and booking with someone else. Yep, let that sink in for a second. When people see a trustworthy, reputable brand, they are more likely to book with that person/company. If you’re noticing that you aren’t attracting the right types of clients, start to think about the image your brand is giving and how it can be improved. What can you do to attract your ideal client or is it your brand that’s lacking overall?
Designing a brand that is intentional and speaks to the right client can lead to booking more clients and more growth for your business!
3. You’re experiencing a period of change in your business.
This is a huge turning point for most of my clients. Maybe you’re wanting to take things a new direction all together. You’re not where you want to be and you’re ready to make a big change. Periods of change can be a great time to switch gears with your brand. Whether you’re changing career paths or just tweaking what you offer, this can be a fantastic opportunity for a fresh new look for your business.
4. Your business is growing rapidly.
Most of my clients choose to brand their business when they’re noticing a vast growth in their business! Maybe you’re a photographer and you went from booking 4 weddings a year to 20 weddings a year….wow that’s a huge leap!! This makes for a great opportunity to brand yourself in the direction you’re wanting to take your business! Building your brand at this time is crucial to helping that growth continue in the direction you want, as well as booking those ideal clients 😉
