When Southern Staged came to me in need of a logo for their brand new company, I knew we were going to be a match made in design heaven! Taylor & Jacob Moore are the owners of Southern Staged, a rental company based out of Tomball, Texas. They specialize in vintage, handcrafted, wedding and event decor. Taylor and I met over coffee to discuss what her vision was for her brand and what she wanted to convey with her logo. Little did I know at the time that we would spend hours chatting about our obsession with vintage/rustic decor, the experiences we have had owning our own business, friendships & life, and of course, our obsession with Joanna Gaines! Taylor and I instantly hit it off and when I sat down to design her logo, I had an immediate vision of what I saw for the Southern Staged brand.

When I first meet with my clients, I have them design a mood board. This is where they can pin images, colors, fonts, anything that evokes the feeling they want their brand to convey. As soon as I opened Taylor’s mood board I immediately fell head over heels in love with it! (Check it out below)

 

It was so timeless & clean, but yet classy and elegant. It perfectly evoked the feelings I wanted to convey for her brand. From here I began to develop out her logo concepts. I knew right off of the bat I wanted a barn, some type of magnolia or plant, and a strong, bold serif font. I began to develop out her logo concepts and sent them off to her for approval (see the concepts below!).

 

I’ll never forget Taylor’s response when she opened her email with the logo concepts, “First off, you nailed exactly what I was going for. I really am thankful you took the time to do this logo! I opened it last night and after scrolling through them, I KNEW which one spoke to the brand the most. Jacob and I love the second one!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! (now I am excited to sport this logo on hats and t shirts to show off!!)” and then she continued on to talk about the why she chose that logo and it made my little design heart soar, “I love that the empty house represents this sort of barn or venue that is sitting…waiting to be filled with pieces that will create life for the event. It is clean. simple. delicate. timeless. classic. romantic. I cannot stop looking at it honestly!!” It’s clients like Taylor that make everything I do worthwhile! When she saw what I had envisioned for her brand, and it immediately translated, I felt like I had nailed it. I love being able to design a brand that my clients are excited about and want to show off right away!

 

We are still in the process of developing out her branding and expanding it into business cards, products, etc. and I cannot wait to see it come to life! Check out the finished logos & brand board below.
